Hi! We are Dan and Karen Ellrick. We met when we were students at Purdue University and got married in 1986. After that, we came to faith through the ministry of Calvary Chapel of Oceanside, California. We have been serving in Japan since Dan retired from the Marines in 1996.
In Japan, we first served as cooperating evangelists under the leadership of Pastor Nagashima at Hiroshima Fushima Cho Kyoukai. After six and a half years of serving in Hiroshima, while also pursuing language and cultural studies, we started church planting in Osaka in 2002. However, soon after we moved, the Lord called Dan to serve at Osaka International Church (OIC), first as an interim pastor and then as regular pastor after Dan was ordained through IMF in 2005.
We originally came to Japan through Mission to Unreached Peoples, but later we transferred to IMF as our mission agency as well. Dan serves as senior pastor at OIC, and Karen is involved in many technical support and resource production ministries, such as making the Japanese Praise DVD's and developing web sites and online databases for various ministries. In the USA, our home church is Grace Fellowship Chapel in Westminster, Maryland.
